Hai Phong, VIETNAM
Chef Sonny was born and raised in Hai Phong, a large harbour city in Northern Vietnam. From an early age he dreamt of becoming an artisan of food and in 2007 migrated to Australia to fulfill that dream. It wasn’t long until his talent and passion in the kitchen was recognised and in 2008 attained the title of Chef. Since then Sonny has boiled, braised, chopped and fried with well-known establishments including China Bar, Crown Casino, Pho Pasteur, Le Tran and most recently at Huong Xua in Cabramatta and Canley Heights.

The menu comprises of a mix of Vietnamese hometown favourites with some delectable new additions. From salt and pepper quail to deep fried fish with an explosive Vietnamese chilli relish and a Phở broth you’ll want to buy a subscription to. Excitingly, dinner at Phomo will also incorporate an original Vietnamese ‘tapas style’ menu.
